A Lesson Taught by a Pot of Uncooked Rice

A Lesson Taught by a Pot of Uncooked Rice Image by https://pixabay.com/ 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)           This afternoon, as my mom goes out to a nearby market place to pick up the goods that she bought, she still left me one single command, “as the rice hits the boiling point, turn off the stove. Just wait for me by then and it’s now my call.”           Being concern as I am, in my mind, I will just let the pot of rice to boiled then I will just lessen the heat so that it will be cooked just right, because that’s how I learned it and I know I am right. So I thought.           As my mom approaches home, she asked me if I turn off the stove. I said that I just lessen the heat by the time it boils. Then she explains to me that if I did it that way, the ric...

Living by Design

"Living by  Design "

(Reading from Ezekiel 43:10-12)

Just like the vision that the Lord shown to prophet Ezekiel concerning the law of the temple wherein there is a pattern of design for God's temple,  God also sent us a pattern concerning our life,  as the temple of the Holy Spirit - that is Christ.

As Israel look on the pattern of God's temple,  they will notice how far the built of their houses looks like comparing to the ideal house's design that God wants.  Once they realized that,  Ezekiel will show them and teach them the way on how to build an ideal house.  Same way, Jesus'way to let us come to repentance is to show the condition of our life first before Him -just like what He did when He converse with the Samaritan woman in John 4. One notable remark of the Samaritan there is "Come,  see a man,  which told me everything that I ever did. Could this be the Messiah? " After that,  she proclaimed the good news to ten cities.

Jesus came down from heaven to earth to not only vaguely show us the way to the Father but to show us and guide us to a pattern of life that will passed the standard of the Kingdom of God and help us qualify to enter the Kingdom.  He called everyone of us unto repentance by showing us His sinless life.  Thus so,  the first truth the He wants us to know is that we are sinners (John 8:32-34). Once we realized our iniquities,  Jesus will invite us to follow Him as He shown us His exemplary lifestyle,  just the way He invited His disciples to "Come and see! "

Given this truth,  we must know that when the Lord Jesus said that He is the way,  the Truth and the Life,  and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6), it only means that we must deny ourselves (Romans 6:6, Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 5:15)  and follow the life that Jesus lives (Romans 8:29, Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 12:1-2).

In conclusion,  our main goal in this life must be to conformed in the image and likeness of Christ,  being He as the perfect representation of the fullness of the Father  (Colossians 1:15). With that said,  we are going back to God's original design for us,  His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26).

“This is how we know what true love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. (1 John 3:16) Laying our lives means sharing the very life of Christ. It is not only about preaching the word or quoting the scriptures, but becoming the living Word ourselves- the word who became flesh (John 1:14) like Jesus did. We could do that by doing little things into people surrounding our circle or getting involve for a higher cause. What are you willing to do to love God and other people?
