Ecuador’s 100,000th Child
Dominic is a charismatic four-year old boy and officially
the 100,000
th child in the Compassion Ecuador program! Thanks to his
sponsors generosity, little Dominic is able to escape the grasp of debilitating
poverty and grow up to be whoever he wants to be <3
Each week, Dominic dreams up a new career. Sometimes he
wants to be a policeman, sometimes a firefighter, doctor, or even the pastor of
his church. But this time, he chose a tastier option.
“I want to be the man who sells ice cream on the street,
because I would like to eat ice cream every day!” Praise God for this boy’s
innocence and may the Lord watch over Dominic as he grows.

Unsponsored Child Who Need A Sponsor
“Life is not going our way, so having my son registered at
the Compassion center may be the most important thing that’s happened for our
family. It’s like winning the lottery!”
When a child is registered in Compassion’s child sponsorship
program, it changes not only the child, but their entire family. Sweet Jandell
is a fun-loving four year old and was recently enrolled in the Compassion center
near his home in the Philippines. His enrollment is a much-needed ray of hope
for his impoverished family.
Jandell’s mother shares, “We are very grateful for the
Compassion center, and it doesn’t even matter that my son doesn’t have a
sponsor yet.” This precious boy and thousands other like him are waiting for a
sponsor! Will you be the person to speak hope into their life and become their
sponsor?

Saturday At The Compassion Center
Jeannette was three years old during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi people of Rwanda.
During this time, her father and two siblings were murdered. A glimmer of hope
came to the family when at age 6, Jeannette was registered in the local
church-based Compassion center.
“I was
sponsored, and the lives of my family turned around for the better,” she says.
“In fact, my family benefited from the center and Compassion program so much
that it overwhelms me with emotion to talk about it.”
Since then, with the help of her Compassion center and
loving sponsor, she has risen above the devastation to become a college
graduate and successful pharmacist! Today, she works at a pharmacy in her
hometown and has plans to marry soon.
“I’m hopeful that I
will be a great wife and mother, thanks to the prayers I received from my
sponsor and the teachings of the Compassion center staff.” Will you come
alongside a child in need like Jeannette and sponsor a boy or girl today?

“This is how
we know what true love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought
to lay down our lives for our brothers. (1 John 3:16)
Laying our lives means sharing the very life of Christ. It is not
only about preaching the word or quoting the scriptures, but becoming the
living Word ourselves- the word who became flesh (John 1:14) like Jesus did. We
could do that by doing little things into people surrounding our circle or
getting involve for a higher cause. What are you willing to do to love God and
other people?
