A Lesson Taught by a Pot of Uncooked Rice

A Lesson Taught by a Pot of Uncooked Rice Image by https://pixabay.com/ 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)           This afternoon, as my mom goes out to a nearby market place to pick up the goods that she bought, she still left me one single command, “as the rice hits the boiling point, turn off the stove. Just wait for me by then and it’s now my call.”           Being concern as I am, in my mind, I will just let the pot of rice to boiled then I will just lessen the heat so that it will be cooked just right, because that’s how I learned it and I know I am right. So I thought.           As my mom approaches home, she asked me if I turn off the stove. I said that I just lessen the heat by the time it boils. Then she explains to me that if I did it that way, the rice will be overcooked because of too much water in it that is yet to be evaporated by the heat. I need to turn off first the stove and let t

Many Are Called. . . Few Are Chosen

Many are called. . . Only few are chosen.
(Matthew 22:14)

Because of a global pandemic crisis brought by COVID-19 pandemic, many are praying to God. Many also, whether in television šŸ“ŗ , radio šŸ“», or in person are quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14 and claiming the promise of God on that verse. But is. It really applicable to anyone?

Let us study the verse in context.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Key Points
(1) If my people who are called by my name

Who are the people that God is pertaining here? Sino ba ang kinakausap ng Panginoon dito? Specifically, this is for the people who are called by God and segregated by God for His own purpose. It is not applicable to just anyone. You have to be first called by God.

How? This leads to point number 2.

(2) Shall humble themselves and Pray.
Well, technically, when. God first created us in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26), it is for a purpose - to have dominion over creation and filled this earth with His glory. Because of sin (Genesis 3, Romans 3:10, 23. Romans 6:23), we are being disqualified to this calling and are being separated from the presence of God, that is why God cannot hear us no matter how we pray for God cannot even look nor hear an unclean vessel. So we must be clean in order to come to God. How to be clean? The first requirement of God is humilty before Him, before He will lift the problem. Nothing is good. In our flesh because of sin, so we must humble ourselves first into repentance and pray for God's forgiveness and believe in His Son Jesus in order for us to be justified before God. That justification allows us finally to come to God and compels us to a journey wherein we will finally do the will of God which leads us to number 3.

(3) Seek God's face and turn from their wicked ways.

If we believe that we are now sons and daughters of God for we are being justified by the blood of Christ, the Holy Spirit of God will compels us to seek God's will first. Ano ba ang kalooban ng Panginoon?. We can find His will and plans for us in His Words, the Bible. If what we are doing contradicts the Word and is not align to God's will, then we must turn back from our ways that are wicked in the eyes of God.

If we do the above things, that is only when God will forgive our sins, hears us and heals us.

“This is how we know what true love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. (1 John 3:16) Laying our lives means sharing the very life of Christ. It is not only about preaching the word or quoting the scriptures, but becoming the living Word ourselves- the word who became flesh (John 1:14) like Jesus did. We could do that by doing little things into people surrounding our circle or getting involve for a higher cause. What are you willing to do to love God and other people?
