A Good Prayer Life
“Do not
be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which
transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ
Jesus.” –Philippians 4:6-7
Prayer is one of
the fundamentals of faithfully living a Christian life.
In fact, Jesus
also taught His disciples how to pray when He prayed, “Our Father.”
As a genuine
heart of a true worshipper and follower of Christ prays faithfully on a daily
basis as it allows constant communication with God, it is on the other hand, my
constant battle within.
It is always
been a constant war between my physical and spiritual self. Then, I remembered
that there is this time, when I lost my cellular phone on my alma mater
university. I prayed to God that time and continually declaring that I would
find it somehow. Guess what! It finds me through other people who is kind
enough to create a network of communication just to find me.
Many times,
miracles happens to my life because every time I am afraid, or mad, or happy, I
constantly cried out to God, argue with Him, or speak praises and future plans
to Him. It is not an official prayer though, but my heart always speaks for
Jesus every single moment, I find the need so much. That is basically the
reason why He is my best friend.
David Roper also
described prayer as this, “Prayer begins in trouble. It requires no special
preparation, no precise vocabulary, no appropriate posture. It springs from us
in the face of necessity and in times became our habitual response to every
issue – good or bad – we face in life. (Philippians 4:6)
Remember,
prayer, no matter what form is a privilege for us to raise our concerns to the
Almighty and break the barrier that this world sets upon us. Prayer empowers us
and gives us sense of renewal.
